For more than 100 years Schladming has been a both renowned and popular resort with varied hiking options in summer. The cultural summer features a selected range from classical to popular music, literature and fine arts. The cultural highlight is Europe's largest brass event, the Mid Europe.

The town with its 5.000 inhabitants is also a meeting place for sports enthusiasts. Its reputation as a world-famous winter sports resort is based on many major events such as Alpine World Ski Championships, Special Olympics World Winter Games and a lot of Alpine ski World cup races. The Planai is the centre of Austria’s largest ski alliance, “amadé”.

“Soul vitamines” – great scenery combined with a vast offer in and around Schladming; the picturesque countryside surrounding the old mining town (first mentioned in a document in 1180, town privileges since 1322) features a unique variety revoking inspiring emotions.
